December 7-9, 2008

- A memeber brought to my attention that some of the pics from the two 2002 conventions (Denver and Tulsa) were not there. After consulting with Rhys (as I never got them originally), the pictures were found and now uploaded into a renovated set of galleries.
- I also took the opportunity to renovate and expand the Andromeda Season 1 galleries. Thanks to Banshee for the captures.
- A new gallery: I have now capped and created a gallery featuring Laura's first film, Family Pictures. Please enjoy them. :)
- Also cleaned up some now defunct links, leaving some of them with a notice as a rememberance.

- Updated several things around the board, most notably in the Air Schedule and Bio sections. I also updated a great number of things on the Eldorado Drift site, including a lot of the old email links. So if you've used one of those links in the last year, please know that those went to oblivion and I apologize for that. Please email me if that happened and I'll try to help with whatever I can. :) |

- Cam Labine has posted the trailer for Control Alt Delete. Check it out here.
- There are tickets apparently still for the Toronto International Film Festival by the way. It had been misread by someone that tickets had sold out. So if you were wanting to go, you still can. :) The screening dates are as follows:
Sept 10th - AMC 6 - 8:15pm
Sept 12th - AMC 1 - 6:00pm
Sept 13th - AMC 10 - 10:15pm
- If you're in Vancouver and wanting to go, well you're in luck. Control Alt Delete will now be displayed at the Vancouver International Film Festival. The festival runs September 25th until October 10th, but it's yet unknown as to the dates it's airing C.A.D.

- As I'm sure all of us do, I wish Laura a Happy 30th Birthday! :)
- A couple days ago, several of us trekked from near and far to Atlanta to see Laura at DragonCon. Hopefully, she as well as many fans (and future fans), had a good time. Some people have posted pics and I will too eventually. I've asked permission to use some, so those too will be going up.
- Some things to report from the con. First, Laura told me that she has been in a some other projects since Control Alt Delete. However, they were smaller projects. So maybe one day/night, you might glimpse her somewhere thinking it was her and you might be right. :) Unfortunately, she did not name any of these projects. So I can't help you there.
- One last thing to report at this time, Control Alt Delete will be showing at the Vancouver International Film Festival soon. Get your tickets now if you want them, as the one's for the Toronto dates sold out fast from what I've heard!

- Well it's been a long time since I've updated, in part because this is my busiest part of my year with work. Sorry. But I bring great news for all that can make it. As I briefly stated on the message board late last week, Laura will be attending Dragon Con 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. This will be making her first U.S. convention appearance since 2002 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The down side of this is it's happening in just about a week from now, on August 29 thru September 2. (It was announced this time last week, sorry.) Still, hopefully, a couple people will be able to make it and have a good showing for Laura. Here is link to Dragon Con's lineup for 2008 and more details.
- On the Canadian front, she will be going from Dragon Con, straight up to Toronto, Ontario, Canada to promote and lecture on her newest independent movie, Control Alt Delete, at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Festival runs from September 4 - 13. The movie will be making it's debut there as it will be shown in it's entirity. More information, including pricing, can be found here at TIFF '08s website.

- Hello all. :) How time flies. Two things in this update.
1. My attempts at verification of the big and wonderful news have been unsuccessful so far. The news has been posted other places a couple of days after my update here a couple of weeks ago. Still, I think it only fair to Laura if patients and respect wins out and I finally get some verification. I hope all of you can understand. :)
2. With that out of the way, I have some great news (which comes with a catch). I have received an email from Anne at SteveBasic.com who has passed along some info regarding a possible special dvd collection from FedCon. After the hugely popular hostings of Laura at FedCon 16 as well as Steven Basic and Kevin Sorbo this year at FedCon 17, they are looking to issue a "Andromeda at FedCon" dvd. The catch however, is that they will only produce the dvd if they receive 150 pre-orders (they're currently at just over 50 now).
The dvd is set to run between 3-4 hours long and contain all the backstage interviews (some previously unreleased even on the individual convention dvds) as well as all stage panels (which Laura did both by herself and another with Jewel Staite [most recently from Firefly/Stargate Atlantis fame). The dvd will cost 14.5 Euros and shipping will be 4 Euros for those in Germany and 6 Euros for international buyers. That comes out to be $31.88 USD, 16.29 GBPounds and so on. (For your currency, see below.) Finally, you can see a short 6 minute preview of the opening ceremonies at www.Intexsound.de and part of Laura's solo panel at www.FedCon.tv and here.
So if you're interested, send an email to fedcon@intexsound.de with the subject "Andromeda Panel
DVD". Oh and I've been told Intex, the production company, is accepting Paypal. They can make a NTSC version as well, but please include that in your email.
