The Trees

Note: This filk is really about the community on Slipstream BBS, in the Miscellaneous forum. In brief, "Tyrants" are fans of Tyr/Nietzscheans, and "Trancers" are fans of Trance. They have a bit of an on-going "war" (all in fun), and the Trancers have taken to calling Tyr and the Tyrants "Trees", in an uncomplimentary sort of way...

There is unrest on the Slipstream
There is trouble with the Trees
For the Trancers just want sunlight
And Tyrants are hard to please
The trouble with the Tyrants
Is they're quite convinced they're right
They say Trancers are just too ditzy
And they're silly little sprites
But Trancers can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made
And they wonder why the Tyrants
Won't just go away

There is trouble on the Slipstream
And the lurkers all have fled
As the fencers scream "Stop fighting!"
And the mods just shake their heads
So the Trancers formed a faction
And vowed to set it right
"Tyrants are just too selfish;
We will make them see the light."
Now there's no more loud oppression
By nasties in chain mail
And the Trees are all kept helpless
By coin flip, shears, and tail!
